When I tried activating my Starlink kit, I got stuck when entering the service address. The address looked correct, but the activation process would not continue. I checked a few things and found that service availability, country settings, and account details can affect activation.
How to Fix a Starlink Service Address Error
1. Check Your Address Carefully
Enter your complete service address during activation. Make sure the country, city, postal code, and other location details are correct.
Starlink uses the service address to determine whether service is available at your location.
2. Check the Starlink Country Setting
Look at the country selected on the Starlink website before continuing. It should match the country where you are registering your account.
Starlink says a country mismatch can prevent a kit from activating correctly.
3. Check Service Availability
Your location may not currently have capacity for the plan you selected. Check the Starlink availability map to see whether service is available at your address.
In capacity-limited areas, Standard and Priority plans may not be available, while a Roam option may be offered.
4. Try the Starlink App
Starlink recommends using the Starlink App during activation. Open the app, follow the setup instructions, and enter your service location when prompted.
5. Check Your Account Details
If you already have a Starlink account, make sure you are using the correct account during activation. A Starlink that is already assigned to another account cannot be activated until it is properly transferred or removed from that account.
6. Confirm You Are Using the Correct Location
If you are physically setting up the Starlink somewhere different from the service address on your account, this can cause problems. Starlink recommends confirming that you are at the correct service address listed on your account.
7. Try Entering the Address Again
Close the activation page or app and start the process again. Carefully enter the address and check whether the correct location is recognized before continuing.
8. Check If You Recently Changed Your Address
If you recently changed your Starlink service address, give the account some time to update. Starlink says address changes can take 15–30 minutes to appear on the account.
9. Moving to Another Country?
Changing your service address to a different country from the one used when you originally registered is not supported through a normal address change.
For a permanent move to another country, Starlink requires the appropriate transfer process and a new account in the destination country.
10. Contact Starlink Support
If your address is correct, service is available, and the error continues, contact Starlink Support while signed in to your account. Starlink recommends contacting support when activation problems cannot be resolved through the normal setup process.
Final Thoughts
A Starlink service address error does not always mean something is wrong with your hardware. First check your address, country selection, service availability, and account details. If you recently changed locations, make sure the new address is supported and give the account a few minutes to update before trying activation again.
